Anthony Chen
BKin, MPT, IMS
Anthony is a physiotherapist and the founder of AC Physiotherapy. He earned both his Bachelor of Kinesiology and Master of Physical Therapy from the University of British Columbia.
Having been involved in competitive and recreational sports from a young age, Anthony has always had a strong interest in movement, performance, and helping people stay active. His approach to physiotherapy focuses on understanding the underlying cause of an injury, helping clients build confidence in their movement, and creating practical treatment plans that support the activities that matter most to them.
Anthony has experience treating a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries and uses a combination of manual therapy, IMS/dry needling, education, and individualized exercise rehabilitation. As a former competitive swimmer, he has a particular interest in sports injuries and commonly works with shoulder, knee, and ankle conditions, as well as clients looking to return to sport, exercise, or an active lifestyle.
His previous experience also includes working with motion capture athletes and stunt performers at Electronic Arts, giving him additional exposure to the physical demands of high-level and performance-based movement.
Outside of the clinic, Anthony enjoys staying active through skiing, cycling, running, and other outdoor activities. He is also a car and motorcycle enthusiast and can often be found working on a project, heading out for a ride, or occasionally testing whether picking up a motorcycle counts as functional strength training. When he is taking it easy, he enjoys spending time at home and playing video games.
